Everon Infrastructure Heads North for Major South Australian Rail Upgrade

Everon Infrastructure is preparing to mobilise to regional South Australia, with works set to commence on a major rail signalling infrastructure upgrade at Bowmans, approximately 100 kilometres north of Adelaide.

The project forms part of the Australian Rail Track Corporation’s (ARTC) Network Investment Program (NIP), which is focused on improving the reliability, safety and resilience of Australia’s interstate rail network through the replacement of ageing signalling infrastructure.

Our team will deliver a significant package of civil and cable hauling works, including:

  • Construction of new cable routes and service corridors.
  • Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) beneath live rail lines, roads and waterways.
  • Installation of cable pits, conduits, signalling infrastructure and location cases.
  • Installation and hauling of new signalling and power cables.
  • Civil works to support modern signalling equipment across multiple work sites.

The Bowmans project is a critical investment that will replace ageing Vulcanised Indian Rubber (VIR) signalling cables with modern infrastructure, reducing maintenance requirements while improving network reliability and operational safety across one of South Australia’s key freight corridors.

This project further strengthens Everon’s growing presence across the Australian rail sector and reflects our continued investment in delivering complex rail infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and collaboratively.

As mobilisation ramps up over the coming weeks, our project teams are working closely with ARTC and key stakeholders to finalise planning, procurement and resource deployment ahead of construction.

We look forward to bringing another critical piece of Australia’s rail network to life and sharing updates as works progress.
