Project: ARTC – Culvert Lining at Maroona
Regional Rail Infrastructure Strengthened Through Critical Culvert Rehabilitation and Shotcrete Lining Works
Rehabilitation of an existing steel culvert at KP242.537, including structural cleaning, reinforcement installation, and shotcrete lining works to improve asset durability and extend the service life of the rail infrastructure
Everon Infrastructure was engaged by ARTC to deliver rehabilitation works to an existing steel culvert at KP242.537 as part of ARTC’s rail infrastructure maintenance and asset improvement program. The project involved the removal of accumulated silt and vegetation, preparation of the existing culvert structure, and installation of a reinforced shotcrete lining system to improve structural integrity, durability, and the long-term performance of the rail asset.
The scope of works included comprehensive culvert rehabilitation activities, including site establishment, de-watering and flow management, access preparation, environmental protection measures, removal of silt and deteriorated materials, cleaning of corroded steel and spalled concrete, void grouting, installation of steel mesh reinforcement, and application of shotcrete lining to the culvert invert. The works were completed across multiple culvert cells, with all rehabilitation activities undertaken in accordance with approved designs, ARTC requirements, and project specifications.
Delivered within a live operational rail environment, Everon Infrastructure was responsible for managing all aspects of construction, including worksite protection, environmental controls, access coordination, plant and material management, and quality assurance requirements. The project was successfully completed without safety incidents or operational impacts, ensuring the continued reliability and serviceability of ARTC’s rail infrastructure.
This project demonstrates Everon Infrastructure’s capability in delivering complex rail rehabilitation works through safe, efficient, and technically focused solutions, supporting the longevity and resilience of critical transport assets.
