Everon Infrastructure was engaged by V/Line Corporation (V/Line) to deliver the replacement of a reinforced concrete box culvert at KP147.819 on the Ballarat to Ararat Line as part of V/Line’s regional rail infrastructure renewal program. The project involved the removal of the existing culvert and installation of a new reinforced concrete structure to improve drainage capacity, asset reliability, and the long-term resilience of the rail corridor.
The scope of works included comprehensive civil, drainage, and rail infrastructure activities, including site establishment, worksite protection, excavation, culvert removal, installation of new box culvert sections, wingwalls and headwalls, earthworks, embankment reinstatement, rock beaching, and associated drainage improvements. The project also incorporated rail removal and reinstatement works, ballast replacement, track reconstruction, tamping, rail welding, de-stressing, and certification in accordance with V/Line standards and specifications.
Delivered during an 8-day track occupation, Everon Infrastructure was responsible for managing all aspects of construction, including safety, environmental controls, access management, plant coordination, material handling, and quality assurance requirements. The works were completed within the planned possession period, ensuring the safe restoration of rail operations while meeting V/Line’s engineering, safety, and operational requirements.
This project represents Everon Infrastructure’s continued commitment to delivering critical rail infrastructure upgrades through safe, efficient, and high-quality construction practices, supporting the reliability and performance of Victoria’s regional rail network.
