Heritage Station Building Restored Through Comprehensive Refurbishment and Services Upgrades

Comprehensive refurbishment of the North Williamstown Station building, including structural, architectural, heritage, and building services works to enhance station functionality while preserving its historic character.

Everon Infrastructure was engaged by McConnell Dowell as a subcontractor to deliver the refurbishment and fit-out of the North Williamstown Station building as part of the Ferguson Street Level Crossing Removal Project. The project comprised structural, architectural, heritage, and building services works to upgrade station facilities while preserving the historical significance of the heritage-listed building.

The scope of works included demolition of existing building elements, structural repairs, flooring, ceiling and roof works, wall, door and window upgrades, joinery, heritage restoration, waterproofing, painting, tiling, furniture installation, PSO signage, electrical and power services, Operational Control System (OCS) and mechanical services, hydraulic services, and drainage works. All works were delivered in accordance with project specifications, heritage requirements, and quality standards.

As the appointed subcontractor, Everon Infrastructure was responsible for coordinating and delivering all aspects of the refurbishment works, including site management, construction sequencing, specialist trades, material coordination, and compliance with safety, environmental, and heritage obligations. The project was completed while supporting the broader delivery of the Ferguson Street Level Crossing Removal Project.

This project reflects Everon Infrastructure’s capability in delivering complex station refurbishment works that integrate heritage conservation with modern building upgrades, enhancing station functionality while preserving an important piece of Victoria’s rail history.
